Today Nokia introduced a very social business phone, the new E52. In spite of the fact that the E52 comes with all of the business focussed features one would expect from a Nokia Eseries smartphone, it also gives users the opportunity to stay connected with the non-work side of their lives, as well. It offers hardware specs like a 2.4-inch QVGA display, super fast HSDPA/HSUPA(INFO) data support on 3G networks, and built-in noise cancellation for crystal clear calls.
In terms of multimedia, the E52 comes equipped with a 3.2 megapixel camera with flash, as well as a host of music friendly bits, such as a full music player, an FM radio, a 3.5mm headphone port for wired stereo headphones, and Bluetooth A2DP stereo support for wireless headphones. Like other S60 smartphones, it features a full HTML web browser. In the E52's case, the browser supports running in landscape orientation, and even has built-in Flash support.
The social butterfly will enjoy the E52's support for Windows Live, Yahoo! instant messaging, Facebook, YouTube, and MySpace - on top of all of Nokia's own Ovi services. Speaking of Ovi, the E52 ships with 60 days of free Files on Ovi service, and also has access to Ovi Maps for turn by turn directions when driving or walking around town, thanks to the aGPS support and built-in electronics compass.
As a business phone, it is no surprise that the E52 ships with Nokia Messaging for quick setup of email accounts and folder support. There's even HTML email viewing when connected to a Microsoft Exchange 2007 server - and the phone supports IBM Lotus Notes Traveler, as well. Document editing is handled by the included Quickoffice suite, and all files and information on the device and memory card (1GB microSD included) can be encrypted for security.
The Nokia E52's battery is rated for up to 8 hours of talk time and a whopping 28 days of standby time - yet the phone only measures 9.9mm (.4in) thick. It will be available in black, gray, and golden aluminum color schemes when it starts shipping this quarter in select markets.
